Rungsak Dokbua

Mr. Rungsak has been among the shining stars of Chiang Mai’s artist scene for many years. Being born in Kamphengphet, Thailand, in 1967, he holds degrees in Fine Arts both from Chiang Mai University and Silapakorn University. His art has over the years been widely exhibited in both Thailand and the United States, where conosceurs particularly like his abstract paintings, people’s portraits, and Computer Graphic art. Many of his works use abstract elements to underline the importance of the main symbols of Thai society, such as the King and Buddha, resulting in very powerful images. In other works, his son is the central theme.

According to Mr. Rungsak, Art is the revelation of inner values and abstract thought. “The power of the imagination will help us travel beyond ordinary thought toward the insight that everything is related.”

Mr. Rungsak recently completed a series of portraits of the King, a selection of which is currently exhibited at the Gongdee Gallery:

ルンサック・ドックブア

ルンサック･ドックブア氏はチェンマイのアートシーンの中で長年にわたって活躍してきました。
1967年タイ・カンパンペット生まれの彼はチェンマイ大学美術学部修士課程を修了後、シラパコーン大学美術学部を卒業しました。彼の芸術活動は長年にわたってタイとアメリカで幅広く行われており、芸術をこよなく愛する人々の間で彼の抽象画や肖像画、コンピューターグラフィックなどが好まれています。彼のあらゆる作品は、タイ社会において最も重要なシンボル王と仏陀を強調し、その他彼の作品で強力なイメージとして残るのは彼の息子を中心にしたテーマのものです。

ルンサック氏によると、芸術は内面の価値観と抽象的な考えの暴露であり、‶想像力は私たちを通常の考えから、すべてのことには関連性があるといったことを深く理解するのに手助けとなる″としています。

ルンサック氏は数多くのチェンマイの芸術家を後輩に持ち、チェンマイ大学美術学部の講師でもあります。彼が教鞭に立たない時、通常自宅兼工房で絵を描いています。そこはとても素敵な奥様と息子さんに出会えるチャンスを与えてくれるかもしれません。つまり彼はいつでもおしゃべりしたりお互いのアイデアを交換したりするために、興味のある人々を歓迎しているのです。
